WeTransfer's free plan got noticeably tighter after its 2024 acquisition by Bending Spoons: the per-transfer cap rose slightly to 3 GB, but a new monthly quota (10 transfers or 3 GB total) and a shorter 3-day link expiry were introduced. If you regularly hit that quota, or just want one fewer account to manage, a direct device-to-device transfer skips the limit entirely.
